NEWINGTON is a village, three miles west from Milton and Sittingbourne, and eight miles west from Rochester, The population in 1851 was 731. The church stands one mile from the village, to the west. The living is a vicarage, in the incumbency of the Rev. C. L. Wright. Keycall is half a mile east; Chesley and Throgmill, one mile and a half S.W.; Wormdale, one mile south; Danaway one mile and a half south ; Wentwood, Rickham, Boxted, and Libbet Well, are one mile north.
