EDENBRIDGE is a parish, small market town, and railway station, 14 miles from Tunbridge Wells, 11 from Reigate, and 24 from Maidstone. The population in 1851 was 1,718. There is a corn market held every Tuesday, and a fine cattle market, which is held on the third Tuesday in each month. The church is dedicated to St. Peter and St. Paul, and is a handsome edifice. The living is a vicarage, in the patronage and incumbency of the Rev. Richard Board, M.A., vicar of Westerham. The Baptists and Independents have each a place of worship.
