ALKHAM is in Dover union, Folkestone hundred, lathe of Shepway, East
Kent, five miles north of Folkestone, and west of Dover, and 87 miles from
London. The population in 1851 was 494. The church of St. Anthony
the Martyr is a handsome building. The living is a vicarage, with the
chapel of Capel le'Fearne annexed, is in the gift of the Archbishop of Canterbury.
The Rev. James Eveleigh is the incumbent.
