The Pidgeon Family : Emma Gundry was the niece of Emma Payne, with whom she was living at the Rising Sun, Fulham in 1881. Emma Pidgeon was born near Ashburton, Devon in 1855 and came to London as a teenager. In 1871 she was working as a domestic servant in Hackney. She married Thomas Gundry in 1883. Thomas, born in 1856 at Camden Town, was the son of a cabinet maker, in whose steps he followed, until he married Emma.  Both gave their address as 1 Vernon Street, Fulham on the marriage record. In 1891 Thomas and Emma Gundry were at the Somerset Arms, 17 Passmore Street. Emma died in 1893, aged 37. *

My father grew up in the immediate area and tells me that the Somerset was actually across the road from the Fox and Hounds. He said the Somerset was situated on the corner of Graham Terrace and a part of Passmore Street that no longer exists.
Passmore Street originally ran all the way to Whitaker Street until the late 50’s when that part of the street was cleared (along with the pub and some surrounding bomb sites) to make way for St Michaels School (later Greycoat). ***

The whole block was cleared to make way for a school, then more recently the school was demolished to make way for housing. ***

I was browsing your site & I recognised some of my family in the photos.
The boys, the man front row far right was my Uncle Harry, the man next to him was my Grandad Henry. The young faired boy in the middle is my Uncle Ernie, who is still alive. The family name is Shepherd, also some of the girls could also be part of my family, I think the lady in the spotty dress in the middle is my Grandmother. I was born at 19 Passmore St in 1959, I lived there with my family, I was the youngest child of four. My mothers family name was Hutson, who also lived in that street. *+
